CWHS SENIOR YEARBOOK PICTURES (MONDAY, JANUARY 23RD
& TUESDAY, JANUARY 24TH) - As not all CWHS senior students had
their senior pictures taken at Prestige Studios and in an attempt to
make sure that ALL
seniors have their individual pictures in the 1st
Annual CWHS Yearbook, senior pictures will be taken/retaken during
lunches on January 23rd and 24th in the food court. Senior transfer
students may have their pictures taken in the food court before or
after transferring to and from their home campuses on these days. Caps
and gowns from the home campuses will be available. These pictures DO
NOT replace the pictures taken by Prestige that will be in the home
campus yearbooks. Again, we are simply trying to make sure that ALL
senior individual photos are included in this year's CWHS Yearbook. So,
please make sure to be at school on those days if you want your senior
picture included too. THIS PHOTO DATES ARE FOR SENIORS ONLY!
Underclassmen photos will also be included in the CWHS Yearbook.
However, underclassmen pictures were taken by LifeTouch during school

FLEXIBLE
LEARNING DAY (WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 25th) - If there
was no school house and you had a day in which you could spend time
learning anything you wanted to learn…what would it be? Carl Wunsche Sr
HS class officers have worked on designing such an opportunity.
Realizing that in their not so distant future, our students will have
numerous opportunities to do just that. Oftentimes, learning occurs
incidentally, accidentally and planned by others. CWHS students will
have a unique opportunity to spend one day learning what they choose to
learn. We have scheduled January 25 as a flexible learning day where
students will not report to school, but will design, plan and be
responsible for their own learning. Between now and January 25,
students will be brain-storming and questioning possibilities, as well
as determining the impact on the school and their community. Students
who normally transfer to their zoned campus for an extracurricular
class will be considered on a field experience with CWHS. Should a
student choose to attend a class at their zoned campus they may do so,
but must provide their own transportation and will be expected to
report directly to that class only. Students will not be allowed to
remain at their zoned campus beyond their regularly scheduled class
time. Please support your child as they embark on their own learning
experience!
PARENT
MEETINGS SCHEDULED FOR JANUARY 31ST- There will be
a PSAT information meeting on January 31, 6:30 in the Food Court at
Wunsche for 10th and 11th grade parents. We will discuss how to
interpret the PSAT results, how to access the College Board to get the
personalized information on the test, strategies, college and career
information. The counselors will also go over the process for
course selection for next school year. PSAT results will be given
to the students on January 24. There will be a Financial Aid meeting
for senior parents on January 31, 6:30 in the Conference Center at
Wunsche. A representative from a local college will provide
information about grants, scholarships, and the FAFSA process.

& PARENT VOLUNTEERS NEEDED FOR THE AMERICAN ENDURANCE RIDE
CONFERENCE - The Houston Airport System at George
Bush Intercontinental Airport and American Endurance Ride Conference
are partnering to host the 2nd Annual Endurance Ride. This year’s ride's
proceeds will go to SIRE, Houston's Therapeutic Equestrian
Centers. Sire is a non-profit therapeutic
horseback-riding program, which uses the spirit and movement of the
horse to benefit people with disabilities, and they still need your
help on February 4th & 5th! Medical Students, Vet Students,
Culinary Students, as well as Criminal Justice Students, will be
needed, as they will do their best to match you up with the job that
matches your studies. Parent volunteers are also welcome!! The
remaining shifts needing volunteers are as follows:
- Sat 7 am to 2:00
pm
- Sun 7 am to 2:00pm
All volunteers will receive a t-shirt, a gift from SIRE,
and community DSG hours. Plus, THEY

BALLS & PIES FOR SUPERBOWL SUNDAY - The Spring
Association for School Nutrition will be making Pecan Pies and cheese
balls for SUPER BOWL SUNDAY. Fruit of the Forest, Peach Berry and Apple
Walnut Pies may be purchased unbaked; instructions will be included
with those pies. Orders must be received by January 31st. You
may select to purchase the Cheese Ball with or without Spicy Crackers.
